Who is this for?

Anyone doing boxing training – hitting bags or pads, or sparring. We recommend you always wrap your hands to reduce the risk of injury. If you already use wraps and you are looking for extra support – and don’t mind some additional bulk – we also have a heavyweight wrap with a slightly thicker fabric.

Why azo-free?

Synthetic azo dyes were developed to be cheaper and easier to use than natural dyes. They are available in a wide range of vibrant colours and have high colour fastness. For these reasons they are the most widely used type of dye in the textile industry.

However, some compounds (aromatic amines) present in azo dyes have been found to be carcinogenic and allergenic in humans. In 2007 the EU banned the use of dyes containing 22 of these compounds but subsequent research has identified others.

Azo dyes are also a major pollutant. Large amounts are present in waste water from the manufacturing process which is released into streams and rivers. They do not break down naturally and build up in the environment, posing a serious risk to people and ecosystems.

Azo-free dyes are more expensive, available in fewer colour and more prone to fading. In spite of this we have chosen to use them because of the health risks and environmental cost of azo dyes.

    I have small wrists and with other wraps there’s always a bit at the end that sticks up. These seem to have a longer velcro section so the ends stick down and stay flat.

    These are good for my boxing classes, not too bulky, flexible enough to do pushups etc.

    Just started boxing training. Got these as they have some stretch and are 4.5m which I was recomended to get. It takes me a while to put them on, I’m still figuring out the best way. But they feel comfortable and support my wrists.
